DJ Abe was born on November 16th 1976. It was his mother’s musical influence that jump started the career of DJ Abe. When Abe was a kid, his mom would make him listen to all kinds of music, like reggae, disco, jazz or even Mediterranean music, being from an Armenian background. Abe was then brought to a break-dance show when he was only 6 years old. Looking from his seat at the dancers and djs doing their thing, he knew he had to do the same. His first influences also include his first vinyl record “break-dance” he receiveid in 1984 and the movie "Beat Street". He then ruined his mother’s old school turntables (the ones with the amp on them) with his scratch attempts. When he was in grade 6 he used to dj his school’s parties and even sometimes during lunch break in the cafeteria! Like most Djs, Abe then hit the road and started spinning at local high school parties, weddings and house parties. At 17 he started djing at Porkey’s club in Laval (yes, he was still under age at the time) and since then, the last 13 years have been very busy for DJ Abe, you might of heard him play at Porkey’s ,Chi Chi’s, Bogart’s, Le Complexe Le Barron, L’Autre Bar ,Stogies, Van Gho’s, Sablon Beach, Boat Parties, Kokino’s (res. 4 years), Wax Lounge , Ice Lounge, Orchid, Red-Lite, Coconut Groove, Club Med World, Juice, Publix, Cavali’s, Envy or Vatican (still res 5th year). When not in the clubs he’s also a producer, working constantly on house beats in his home studio. Abe is also the inventor and manufacturer of “The Magic Scratcher”. A revolutionary invention for djs who have warped records. In conclusion, Abe is an artist with a love for music that will never quit You can catch him at Vaticanevery Friday.
